Lovely theatre. Watched a good little production called She Kills Monsters and quite enjoyed it.
Love how the bar brings in different tipples to match the occasions, such as Burns Night and this Double Dragon to go with the Dungeons & Dragons theme of the play.
This is a community theatre that often has really good plays that others don't.
The casts are excellent but sometimes the 'set' steals the spotlight, they are really good.
If you want a night out and still get a cup of tea and a biscuit, or a pint of beer, plus entertainment it all at the Abbey Theatre.
Went to the Abbey Theatre Studio. Just a simple round space with two rows of seats set around a circular stage. Of course the experience depends on the performance and we had a superb one of the two person play Constellation.
We visited the studio for a play ' constellations' which was fantastic. The venue was small and intimate perfect for the play and there's a bar open before and after showing. Will be back to see something in the larger theatre next. Such a great local find .
A great venue, foh staff wonderful, presentation very good could perhaps open 45 minutes before curtains up
Perfectly sized local theatre run entirely by volunteers. Good bar and comfy seats that all have a good view
Home - the actors did an amazing job with the script, albeit the jokes were a bit out dated and some may say not pc. The atmosphere was good
Usually try and come here for every Company of Ten show & am always impressed! They produce a wide range of theatre & such a welcoming, friendly & pretty venue!
The show and the staff were fabulous. Just wished the bar had a bit more of a variety of drinks and snacks, or that items on the menu were actually available. The ice cream during the interval was so tasty. A sign on the door that could indicate when the doors would open would be helpful, as we had to wait outside for a while without an indication of when they would open or how long we would need to wait. My companion and I could have headed to the restaurants/bars nearby if we had known coming early to the theater was not the best option. I can't wait to go back... Just not as early as I did this time around. 😅
Thoroughly enjoyed the Incident Room last night. Brilliant cast, very authentic accents, good comic timing and some great lines.
